Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST is an initiative designed to promote compliance with the Fair Housing Act design and construction requirements. The program offers comprehensive and detailed instruction programs, useful online web resources, and a toll-free information line for technical guidance and support.
HUD is pleased to announce it is resuming its Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST program with the first of at least ten training events across the country at the 2011 Mississippi Housing Conference, on August 22, 2011. This training will take place at the Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg Mississippi, and will include an overview of the design and construction requirements of the Fair Housing Act (Act), the Act's scoping and coverage, a discussion of the seven design and construction technical requirements, as well as other resources to aid in compliance. Read the press release.
